Guhhh! Keith Olbermann out at Current TV

Mar 30, 2012

Keith Olbermann was recently fired by Current TV. A move he doesn’t seem to be taking lying down. He has been littering up twitter with his thoughts on the situation.

Get to the point

  • Keith Olbermann, the once ESPN SportsCenter regular and one time host on MSNBC, was unexpectedly fired by Current TV today.
  • Olbermann’s replacement is former New York Governor and CNN host, Eliot Spitzer.
  • The changeover is effective immediately as Spitzer already began his show “Viewpoints”.
  • The reported reason for Olbermann’s firing was due to a breach of contract.  More detailed reports say that Olbermann failed to show up to work on numerous occasions while also sabotaging and attacking Current TV.
  • Olbermann has gone to twitter to refute the allegations and his full statement can be seen below in the “related tweets” section.
  • “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” averaged 177,000 viewers over a 40 week span with Current TV.  The same show averaged close to a million viewers during its stint on MSNBC.
  • Olbermann is slated to appear on David Letterman Tuesday night to discuss his recent departure.
